About Skin Care
Natural skin care uses botanically sourced ingredients such as herbs, roots, essential oils and flowers. These are combined with naturally occurring carrier agents (natural soaps, oils and water) without the use of synthetic chemicals or petroleum based products.
Dating back to over 4,000 years BC, natural skin care has been used throughout the Middle East and during early Egyptian times. Some examples of natural skin care ingredients include jojoba, safflower oil, rose hip oil, shea butter, beeswax, witch hazel, aloe vera, tea tree oil, and chamomile. Many of these ingredients can be combined to tailor individual skin types and conditions.
Natural skin care goes beyond the application of products on one's skin. It also pertains to a holistic philosophy surrounding the holistic care of one's body.
Common Synthetic Chemicals
- Sodium Lauryl Sulfate is used as a 'foaming' agent

- Triethanolamine is often used to adjust the pH level of a given product.
